Bryce: [00:00:15] Equity Mates. It's Bryce and Ren. We're bringing you a bonus episode of Is there Money in? Because since we last recorded with Ed and did his is there money in a song ChatGPT was released and they had a big play with AI and how that fades into the music industry.

Alec: [00:00:35] Well there was talk about all of us making a song. Yeah, I was listening back to the original episode. I realised I said I would make a song. I did not follow through on that. But Ed, to his credit. Did.

Bryce: [00:00:48] He did.

Alec: [00:00:49] Let's just leave it there. Okay. Well, let's go to suck in.

Ed: [00:00:56] Hello there myself actively here with my Equity Mates Bryce and Ren, gentleman. Yeah, this is the update on is there any money in music? When we left off, remember, I set myself a challenge because at the end of it and rain, you are much less into this than Bryce because you said it was cold hearted for me to say that the best thing you could do now with music is find an old song, interpolate it, slash, use a sample, get a rapper on, release it. Who cares? Pay the royalties when they come and say, What are you doing? And then move on with your life.

Alec: [00:01:31] Yeah.

Ed: [00:01:32] It's terrible.

Alec: [00:01:33] I guess I'm just a purist at heart.

Ed: [00:01:35] And as a former drummer and the man in the band understood that it was necessary, Bryce. Because there's no money in original music. Yeah. You sent me the challenge of coming up with one. So I have.

Alec: [00:01:46] I say yes.

Ed: [00:01:48] So this Australian classic.

Audio: [00:01:50] Always on a bit of a dollar. We'll be riding on the horses.

Alec: [00:01:57] Yeah.

Ed: [00:01:59] The horses. Then I went to an AI site and I paid $7.

Alec: [00:02:06] I love this. I love this.

Ed: [00:02:08] And I wrote a rap about horses. I did.

Alec: [00:02:14] And did you or did the AI?

Ed: [00:02:16] Okay, I got them to do one. But there was shit. There was a it was all weird. They didn't know what they were talking about. So I wrote a rap. And then I found for seven bucks, I've signed up to get Snoop Dogg. To voice it?

Bryce: [00:02:30] No way.

Alec: [00:02:30] Epic.

Ed: [00:02:31] Or whoever they're calling Snoop Dogg. So this is AI Snoop Dogg.

Bryce: [00:02:35] Who gets the Royalties in this situation. Does Snoop get the royalty?

Ed: [00:02:37] This is a good question. So, Snoop.

Audio: [00:02:40] When he said I'm doing laps around you, like since 1992, I want to become the Snoop diva diva because I'm the greatest of them all. You were chapter four glue, and I can meet both. You better bulls that Snoop. Don't wait. It is big Snoop. Step in. Right in. Back with Daryl. Break.

Bryce: [00:02:56] No way.

Alec: [00:02:58] Big Snoop riding bareback with

Ed: [00:03:04] And now Oh, my very good friend D.J. can't ski whose mash ups you can hear across the heat network on Fox in Victoria on today FM here in Sydney. He's the head of audio for my network and he's also the best party DJ He mashes up. You hear his matchups. He's so good at it. I say, Connie got a moment, and in 40 minutes he sent me back.

Bryce: [00:03:27] Oh, I got.

Audio: [00:03:29] To get Snoop in the saddle. I'm doing laps around you, like September one, 1992. I won the cup. You want Justin to grow something they love. You are so slow, strong, fast. You mean it's over for you? They need to shut them in the street. They call me Snoop. diva diva because I'm the greatest of them all. You are a chapter before you and I can meet balls. Work. You benefit both nationally. Don't wait in this big snoop step in reminding me. Back with general break. We got to with everything.

Alec: [00:03:59] That is epic.

Ed: [00:04:01] Right.

Bryce: [00:04:02] Now, all we need to do is get that on tik-tok.

Alec: [00:04:04] We have to release.

Ed: [00:04:06] Now. I didn't have a TikTok. If you have, let's do it. Because that, my friends, is AI rap. That whole thing got seven points.

Alec: [00:04:15] That's an unbelievable. Yeah, I was going to say, Hey, hey, you did a lot of heavy lifting in that one.

Ed: [00:04:22] I do. So what do we think?

Bryce: [00:04:26] That's epic. That is the future of music.

Ed: [00:04:29] It's not terrible.

Bryce: [00:04:30] No, it's good.

Alec: [00:04:31] Epic. Yeah.

Bryce: [00:04:32] It's got original elements, but it's also got a so Yeah. Where does Snoop come into that.

Ed: [00:04:41] So no. So what you do now is you just start releasing it on Tik tok and when it gets big, you go to Snoop and you say, Make this is going crazy. Give us your fee. Darryl Let's do it. Archie comes. Yeah.

Alec: [00:04:56] So how or do they say epic? Do they say, No, no, no, it's not Snoop. It just sounds like it.

Ed: [00:05:03] Sounds like if we want to get technical, it's Julius, D.C. 661 from Fake you.

Alec: [00:05:09] Yeah. Or it's just like an AI that's been trained because I tried to train an AI to copy my voice. This doesn't really work enough. Sample size. Yeah. No, no. Yeah. We've done like five out of five years of podcasting.

Bryce: [00:05:21] Did you feed it all in or.

Alec: [00:05:22] No, I just did, like the quick brown and the lazy dog. You had to pay a fair bit for them to suck.

Ed: [00:05:29] Yeah, that's. That's all right. So there we are. That's going up on you Tiktok.

Alec: [00:05:33] Wow. That's amazing..

Bryce: [00:05:35] That's epic.
