Octahedron is a Silicon Valley-based investment fund looking to fund the next generation of global, internet-scale businesses. They own many of the biggest internet names we are all familiar with – Google, Uber, Amazon, Netflix etc. – and in this presentation they offer a round up of the commentary from publicly listed companies from the past few months.
For example, they offer commentary on macro concerns and supply chain issues from Albertsons, McDonalds, FedEx and PayPal’s earning calls and discuss the headwinds in the digital advertising business with quotes from Snapchat, Meta, Twitter, Pinterest, Spotify, Microsoft and Google. Or, a third example, an update on the state of the content economy from Netflix, Disney, Spotify, Roku, Peloton and Apple.
Earnings calls from public companies is such a rich source of information. But as retail investors we can struggle to tackle it. There is so much information to consume, digest and then draw connections between. So it is great when someone does the hard work for us. This presentation from Octaherdron is exactly that. A great summary of some of the key themes coming out of the latest quarterly earnings season.
