Person: Tim Samway

Tim is the Chairman of Hyperion Asset Management, an Australian and Global equities fund manager with over $13 billion in funds under management. Tim and his team built Hyperion over 24 years into one of the best performing managers in Australia. His other day job is running Packhorse - a business that acquires agricultural properties and manages land through regenerative farming practices. Their mission is to become a global leader in the practice of regenerative grazing and profitable cattle farming, and currently boast 45,088 hectares of land under management.

Tim Samway is the Chairman of Hyperion Asset Management, an Australia-based fund manager focused on buying the highest quality companies at reasonable valuations. Hyperion manages approximately $13 billion. Hyperion’s Global Growth Companies managed fund is ASX-listed HYGG and over the past 5 years has returned 25% pa, beating the MSCI World Accumulation Index by 9% pa. We first spoke to Tim last year, in an episode titled 25 years of searching for disruptive businesses, and with the recent sell off in growth names we thought it would be a great time to get him back on the podcast.

Tim is the Executive Chairman of Hyperion Asset Management, a $10 billion Australian fund manager investing in the highest quality companies at reasonable valuations. Tim has worked at Hyperion for over 25 years, including as Managing Director from 2012 to 2019.
