This document sets out how Equity Mates Media Pty Ltd (ABN: 11 635 151 110) (“we” or “us” or “our”) will collect personal information for the purpose of the FinFest 2023 mailing list (“the mailing list”) and the ways in which this personal information will be used. 

By submitting your details to us and accepting these terms (by opting-in to the check box) you agree to be bound by the following terms and consent to us using your personal information subject to the following terms. 

What information we collect about you

We are collecting the following personal information to build the mailing list:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address

We are collecting this personal information to keep you informed about FinFest 2023 (“the event”). There is no obligation to provide this information, however, by not providing this information we will not be able to keep you informed with developments for the event. 

How we use your personal information

All personal information that we obtain about you will be recorded, used, and protected by us in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and this privacy policy. We will use your personal information to communicate with you about the event, update you on relevant developments, and market products or services that we or third parties offer. 

You can opt out of receiving this information at any time by clicking ‘unsubscribe’ on an email or by contacting contact@equitymates.com 

How we disclose your personal information

In general, we try to minimise the instances in which we disclose your personal information to third parties. However, in this instance, the mailing list will be shared with key event sponsors. By signing up to the mailing list you acknowledge that you may be contacted by third party event sponsors. 

You can unsubscribe from these third party sponsor emails at any time by clicking ‘unsubscribe’ on their email.

Aside from event sponsors, the only instance where we would disclose your personal information is when compelled by courts, tribunals, government regulatory agencies or the police. We will not sell or distribute your personal information to any company other than event sponsors. 

How we hold your information

We use MailChimp to collect personal information for the purpose of building mailing lists. We take all reasonable steps to protect the security of the personal information that is stored on our MailChimp account from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

You can access and correct information

We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information which we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete, relevant, not misleading and up-to-date. If you believe your personal information is out of date or inaccurate, we encourage you to contact us at contact@equitymates.com.

You have the right to access your personal information and requests for information about our privacy policy are welcomed. You may also contact us at any time and request a copy of the personal information we hold about you by emailing contact@equitymates.com. We will ask you to confirm your identity before access will be granted, and access may be denied if one of the exceptions set out in the Privacy Act apply.

From time to time, we will change and update our security and privacy policies. Accordingly, we recommend that you check this page periodically in order to review our current policies.
