Maddy: [00:00:22] Hello and welcome to your In Good Company, a podcast that makes investing accessible for everyone. I'm Maddy Guest and as always, I'm in some very good company with my co-host Sophie Dicker.

Sophie: [00:00:33] Last week of Feb.

Maddy: [00:00:36] Woohoo, we made it.

Sophie: [00:00:36] A bit sad fibs like one of my favourite months.

Maddy: [00:00:39] It's just disappeared, hasn't it?

Sophie: [00:00:40] Yeah, it has. It's all gone. That's okay. That's okay. We're going to March.

Maddy: [00:00:45] Now, hopefully. After today's episode. We have set ourselves up beautifully financially.

Sophie: [00:00:52] For the year ahead for things to do, in fact, to sort your finances for 2023.

Maddy: [00:00:58] Okay. Your fab financial fixes. So. Right. We're calling it I forgot.

Sophie: [00:01:06] So this week we're actually going to talk about a topic that's really close to our hearts. Which is starting a side hustle. Yes. And I think it's an exciting topic because we were reading a little bit of research recently about like the amount of women and men that are jumping into like starting their side hustles. And it kind of, I think was a bit of a like fall over from Covid.

Maddy: [00:01:31] Yeah, well, the number of Aussies with a side hustle has reached record highs in the last year, 6.5% of the workforce held multiple jobs. Wow, that's really high. And I think you're right. I feel like Covid had a big part to play in that.

Sophie: [00:01:44] Yeah, and also the fact that the internet makes things so easy now it's accessible. You can find information. Social media is like rife with opportunities.

Maddy: [00:01:52] Yeah, I guess for those who don't know. So if and I do.

Sophie: [00:01:56] You know, if you're listening to this and you don't know, this is our side hustle is that. Yeah.

Maddy: [00:01:59] People always ask me if we do it full time.

Sophie: [00:02:02] Oh, it's like in case you don't know, we have, you have a podcast that you're listening to right now.

Maddy: [00:02:09] I mean we have full time jobs and we're doing this on the side. This is a side hustle.

Sophie: [00:02:14] This is us hustling. It's like, Yeah, this is our podcast because we're speaking on it. This is a side hustle.

Maddy: [00:02:23] You're right.

Sophie: [00:02:23] Yes, fantastic side hustle, which has brought us many opportunities and we get to spend time together all the time.

Maddy: [00:02:30] Why do you feel like you didn't believe that? Let's start at the top. So today we're going to start by, I guess, sharing our experiences and also sort of a bit more broadly around what are some of the benefits of starting a side hustle and what are the things that you should know?

Sophie: [00:02:45] And then we're also going to have a look at some side hustles that our friends have started. Yeah, some inspiration. Well, people.

Maddy: [00:02:51] In the community.

Sophie: [00:02:51] People in the community and also a resource list. We have done the hard work for you guys and we've got some sites, websites, pages, things you can do right now to make cash.

Maddy: [00:03:02] Yeah. So all the info that you need to know or inspiration that you might need to do this yourself.

Sophie: [00:03:09] So let's jump in then. I guess like the pros and cons of starting a side hustle, I also want to caveat this by saying like, we don't need to tell you. Like what? Like why? To start a side hustle or why it might be beneficial for you. You're going to know that for yourself, but like maybe some of our experiences might. Shed some light on the conversation. What's one of the biggest benefits you say in starting a side hustle?

Maddy: [00:03:34] Look, I think for us personally, it has been just the general enjoyment that I've got out of it and the fulfilment that it has brought to my life. So we get to have really great, feel good conversations with lots of different women. We have met so many people from doing this and I think it has added an incredible amount of value to my life. I've learnt so much both about life just myself but also about the industry and financial literacy so far, and have loved just the experience of like trying to grow this with you.

Sophie: [00:04:10] Yeah, it's kind of like you can work on a passion. Yeah, but then you also can expand your network, which I have found has been probably one of the most beneficial things through starting a side hustle.

Maddy: [00:04:22] Yeah. And I think for us, what we're doing with this is that quite directly or has a lot of parallels to what our day job is, we both work in a sort of similar industry that we are talking about every day, and I think that it has really helped me in my day to day career as well. Like the things that I've learnt, the people I've met has made me a better employee at work.

Sophie: [00:04:44] Yeah, and I think that can be applied across any side hustle that you kind of start because you just like it's rife with experience, doesn't matter what you do, you'll learn something new and that can be applied to your day job as well, I think.

Maddy: [00:04:57] I think the next one that comes to mind is an added layer of financial security. So not everything that people may do as a side hustle will necessarily generate money, but I think a lot do. And it's a really great way to sort of bring some more financial security to your life. Inflation is higher than it has been in many years, And I think, you know, the general cost of living is getting greater. So I think having some money on the side to help just subsidise your life is really helpful.

Sophie: [00:05:28] Yeah. And also if you have like little goals, I know some friends who have done little side hustles on the side because it's a side hustle though, because they have like a trip planned or like they have something that they need to pay for, like the average Joe coming up with something. So they go and do like I have a friend that will go to like random catering shifts. Yeah. Which will be one of our resources later. But they'll just do that for a couple of months. They'll come in and out of the side hustle. It doesn't have to always be like this ongoing thing, but it like is that excess to help you generate cash for when you need it.

Maddy: [00:06:02] One thing I would say that is worth considering when you're thinking about doing this is work life balance. I think that it's all good and well to want to make a bit more money on the side, but I think it's important that you consider what your current life situation is, what your existing work commitments are, because at the end of the day, like you are signing up for more work. And I think even if it is something that you really enjoy, it's just worth considering how much time you actually have because it takes time. And I think that not everyone has, you know, depending on your current life situation, if you have a family, if you have children, not everyone has that available to them. One thing that we have learnt more about since doing this podcast is the importance of being across the tax implications. So when you earn money through a second job, you still do need to declare all of your income to the ATO if you're in Australia. The Australian Tax Office and I would say one thing that has really helped us keep track of things is opening a separate bank account.

Sophie: [00:07:09] Yeah, we opened one like maybe a couple of months into when we first started making a little bit of revenue and it helps you. We had to then like go to an accountant because we were like, We don't know how to do this, but it helps. Like just show track all your expenses.

Maddy: [00:07:26] Yeah, I think if you can get paid into the same account that your expenses are coming out of, it just makes it so much easier because you print out one statement at the end and that is all of your business income and expenses. Yeah. In one place that you can hand over to an accountant when they do your tax return, or you.

Sophie: [00:07:44] Could do the tax return yourself. Maddy and I is just struggling. And one another thing with that is get receipts for everything. Yeah like we'll be at like a 7-Eleven buying. What if we get receipts but like you need them it adds up. So you just make sure you get receipts. Otherwise your accountant will be like, Where's your substantiation? And you're like, What is that, a receipt? Another thing that I've done over the time of us with this podcast is I have a separate bank account where when we get paid, I put money into a separate savings account. That's like my tax account.

Maddy: [00:08:19] Yes.

Sophie: [00:08:20] Because way I mean, it would depend on your circumstance, but where in like a something that they call a partnership. So where tax our own much. Tax rates. I've been putting money at that rate aside into a savings account so that when we go to pay tax, it's ready to go.

Maddy: [00:08:35] Yeah, it's going to be. Yeah. So I guess for context there without with your if you're employed by like an employer, they take the tax out automatically. Whereas if you're earning the money yourself, you get paid the full amount. So basically you're saying just separate a little bit so that when it comes to tax time, you don't suddenly find out you're liable for ten grand tax bill or something when you've gone out and already spent all of that money. Yeah.

Sophie: [00:09:02] So I feel like the part is really for us have been like networking. A little added bonus of financial security. What are some things that you have found like the unspoken? Because there's a lot of brokenness out there about building a business. You can find it if you want, but like what? What are some of the things you've found that maybe aren't so talked about or like the maybe the downsides of having a side hustle?

Maddy: [00:09:28] Yeah, I think probably work life balance. Yeah. Is a big one way or it like both of us already work sort of jobs that are quite demanding as it is in terms of hours. And then we do this on top and I think it's definitely something that I like. We've both made a conscious decision to do it and we both want to do it and we love it, but it's definitely not for everyone. Yeah, I think there's a lot of sacrifices that come with working on your own business. Yeah, it's a lot of time commitment and it's one of those things that it's like when you're working for yourself every extra hour that you get, that you put in, comes back to you directly in output. Yeah. So it is quite hard to sort of, I think, stop yourself sometimes from just working, working, working.

Sophie: [00:10:18] Yeah. And I would also add, like if you're going to start something with a partner, like a business partner to be on the same page, like we have had a lot of open conversations of like this is like I have a relationship, I have my friends, I have my family, whatever. We both have our things like this is the time I need to dedicate to them a week and this is what I can give to you in the podcast because I feel like we're super lucky that we've found that page that we're both on. But if we didn't have those open conversations, that could be a bit of a tricky point because it does take time. Yeah, this stuff takes time.

Maddy: [00:10:51] And you never want to build resentment with a partner because you feel like you're working harder than them or vice versa.

Sophie: [00:10:57] Yeah, exactly.

Maddy: [00:10:59] So is there anything else you would say we should consider before starting one?

Sophie: [00:11:03] I would just say it's just when you're starting something, just consider your strategy a little bit. Jeez, that sounds weird, but way last year, for example, in the first year of the podcast, we had a strategy for 12 months and we really set ourselves up, and I think that really helped us get through the year. And I had a timeline and had some goals and looked at them. But then last year, Train, Train two, we were so sporadic.

Maddy: [00:11:28] Chaotic.

Sophie: [00:11:29] Chaotic. And I think I struggled a lot with that because I was always like, What are we working towards? And like, I think that made it a little less enjoyable at times. So I would just say when you're starting something, have a bit of a plan because it helps you look at what you're working towards and then it becomes more enjoyable when you like hit milestones or whatever. And then particularly for us, like churning out content every week sometimes. But, but we talking about like we're just doing this because we have to get one out. So yeah, a little bit of strategy just before you start can help you avoid maybe certain stresses or like pitfalls or you feel a bit like, Oh, what's the point?

Maddy: [00:12:08] Yeah, I think it helps you to just align with each other and align on, I want to say like your values or but you know, various opportunities can come off and it's like, okay, so what do you say Yes. To what do you say no to what's worth doing and sacrificing time for them, what's not. Yeah. And I think when you can be on the same page about goals and strategy, it makes just your life a lot easier.

Sophie: [00:12:32] So cons are from our experience. Sometimes you have to give up a bit of your social life.

Maddy: [00:12:37] Not a con, just.

Sophie: [00:12:38] A consideration.

Maddy: [00:12:39] And something to consider when signing up for it. I mean, we're also so lucky. We're young. Like a lot of people have families, kids like that. You are in a situation where you can't actually give up that extra time. Yeah.

Sophie: [00:12:51] And then second one is consider the strategy, because it can lead to a bit of a downfall if you don't. But we want to chat to you about all of the side hustles that you could be doing right now to make some extra cash. But before we do, we're just going to take a quick break for our sponsors.

Maddy: [00:13:05] So like many of you. So as promised, before the break, we have reached out to you, our community, to find out more about what your side hustle is. Have you been able to monetise it and what do you get out of the experience?

Sophie: [00:13:24] I think this will be some inspiration.

Clem: [00:13:27] For all of us. Hi, I'm Clem. I'm a senior account manager at a communications agency here in Melbourne and my side hustle is cooking and catering. You can keep me up on Instagram @ClemmieDonaghue. The reason why I love doing it is because I can choose my own hours when I want to ramp up the work or not. And it's a great little extra injection of cash.

Jackson: [00:13:49] Hey, guys. Jackson here. I've recently launched a profit for Purpose Cleaning Products brand as a side hustle because I believe there was a more effective, efficient and eco friendly way of delivering household cleaning products cleanings. There are many, but some good ones have been that pallet trucks can fit down our side streets. Customs duties are not cheap and some friends will surprise you with the level of their support. Have I made any money? Definitely not, given I'm about two weeks in from launch. Hopefully breakeven soon. Jesus.

Emma: [00:14:19] Hi guys. I started a small brand called Emma where I sold scarf tops with my designs printed on them as I'm studying design at university and just needed a creative outlet. I learnt from this side hustle that it's really important to do your research, even if it takes six months to a year. It's to build good foundations before you start anything. And I did make a small amount of profit from this side hustle, but more importantly I learnt more skills that I have from any other job that I've had yet.

Sha: [00:14:54] I am Sha and on the side I have. Shop paints, paintings always been a passion of mine and very recently it's turned into a very small side hustle. I think my piece of advice for people who are a one man band or in project work would be to take on things sustainably for your lifestyle. And it can be quite exciting when people engage in your business. So just be really conscious about what you're taking on and the timelines that you're giving in return.

Phoebe: [00:15:25] Hey guys, My name's Phoebe and I'm currently working full time as a graphic designer in London. My side hustle is my graphic design freelance business studio, so you can check out my website portfolio by searching online studio for my portfolio dot com. Being able to work remotely allows me the opportunity to service clients across the globe. I've learnt and I'm still continually learning my business processes and most effective ways to communicate. I love any opportunity to create bold and exciting designs provided me with creative freedom outside of my current full time job, keeping me very much on my toes and constantly learning new things about design. It is so rewarding to love what I do and allow myself to build my savings and cheeky holiday fund on the side.

Sophie: [00:16:12] I think I feel like from a lot of those side hustle ideas, it seems like it kind of comes from like a bit of a passion. Yeah, feel like a bit of a like, What are you doing? Like what? Like if you think about you, like, what could you be doing? That's something that you really love that maybe you could turn into to monetise.

Maddy: [00:16:31] I actually have an answer for you. Yeah. Okay. So I have recently. [

Sophie: [00:16:35] Yeah.

Maddy: [00:16:36] Just in case we are not busy enough already. I have recently signed up to do my celebrant school.

Sophie: [00:16:41] Oh my God.

Maddy: [00:16:42] Because I was actually at a wedding of a very good friend of mine and they had a friend marry them and it was just the most beautiful.

Sophie: [00:16:53] Experience and I.

Maddy: [00:16:55] Loved it. And I guess I just really wanted to be able to recreate that experience like some of my closest friends.

Sophie: [00:17:02] So you're going to do your Sullivan's course?

Maddy: [00:17:03] I am doing my solo runs cos I'm going to marry two of my housemates next to them.

Sophie: [00:17:08] Oh my God. Amazing. And is this a side hustle? Because it's a lucrative business or so.

Maddy: [00:17:13] It actually is, Yeah. I have discovered. Look, I think there's quite a bit of work to get the costs done, so there's a bit of initial investment in terms of time and also financially. Yeah, but I have recently discovered that you can charge quite a bit for doing a wedding. Yeah. So maybe it is quite lucrative. I personally am not really doing it for the money side of things. I'm sort of busy enough and I only really plan on doing it for like quite close friend.

Sophie: [00:17:39] Like if you needed cash or licence.

Maddy: [00:17:42] Well, yeah. So I've actually signed up with a good friend of mine and I was saying like if we had a holiday coming up or something, you just do a couple of weddings on the side. Yeah. Build up your savings and off you go.

Sophie: [00:17:52] I feel like you with a wedding, like anything with wedding in it is so expensive. Yeah. Like you can really charge so much money for it. So I think that's also like, imagine if you had a trip planned and you're like, I need two grand. I'm going to do it.]

Maddy: [00:18:06] So like.

Sophie: [00:18:07] That is so cool. What a great idea. I love it.

Maddy: [00:18:10] So, so before the break, you gave a bit of a. Hayes are around ways that you can make money right now. Yes. So what are some of the resources that if someone's listing and they want some cash? Yeah, they want some money. What can they do? Where can they.

Sophie: [00:18:25] Go? So I went into it. Tik tok, Google YouTube, deep hole.

Maddy: [00:18:29] Love it for all of you. I love how Tik-tok is becoming a legitimate race.

Sophie: [00:18:33] It's like a Google search.

Maddy: [00:18:35] It's like I feel like I used to hear or like, listen to things on TikTok and be like, Oh, I read this article and I was talking about this, and now I'm like, No, And I saw it on TikTok.

Sophie: [00:18:45] Yeah. So I have created a list so that you don't even have to think about what to do. You can just pick the one you'd like the sound of and go for it from today.

Maddy: [00:18:54] Thank you. Sophie, what is list number one?

Sophie: [00:18:56] So the first one is an app called Tribe. Tribe was started by Jules. Yeah. And yes. Anyway, Tribe is it connects creators with brands so that you can make money through, like, creating advertisements. And before you say Surfy, I'm not a creator.

Maddy: [00:19:16] I literally was an outsider.

Sophie: [00:19:18] And I don't have enough social media followers. Yeah. Tribe actually has like, advertising for all different types of things. Like it doesn't have to be like a social media post. There was one for like Footy Feud where you filmed a little advertising with your family and then you could be selected to the whole thing. I know. And the minimum for a lot of the I'd like the minimum followers you have to have for a lot of the ads a 3000 followers, because a lot of these brands are looking for those micro.

Maddy: [00:19:46] Yeah.

Sophie: [00:19:47] Engagement. So I don't know if you're on the path for wanting to fall into that influencer realm like this. I think it's a great way to connect yourself with brands that you like resonate with. Yeah, there's so many different options out there.

Maddy: [00:20:00] I mean, I'm definitely still not at 3000 followers. Maybe we can do some work on YJ, say. What else have you got for us?

Sophie: [00:20:08] Second one is Sunroom, which is a app, a platform for women and non-binary people, creators of any type of content. Yes. And I would say when I first started looking into sunroom, I thought it was really like kind of like self-love and like that kind of content, like an more onlyfans esque. Okay, That's what I originally thought it was.

Maddy: [00:20:30] It's not what I thought. Where you're going with self-love, I'm thinking like, self-help.

Sophie: [00:20:36] Yeah, I don't know. Like, okay, maybe not self-love, but I was thinking it was more about, like, the female body. Yeah. To put yourself out. Yeah, I would.

Maddy: [00:20:43] Agree with that. Yeah. Yeah.

Sophie: [00:20:44] But actually there are creators on there who are doing like career advice. I listen to a podcast with Michelle Battersby, who is the founder of Sunroom. About one of the most successful people on Sun Room is this girl who just tells stories about her life but shit. But she says that she's a really engaging storyteller and these people are making like five grand USD a month. Yeah.

Maddy: [00:21:07] Well, I've actually got Michelle about as big coming on in the next few weeks, so we'll hear all about sunroom. Yeah. But, yeah, I'm a big fan of that platform. Yeah.

Sophie: [00:21:17] Like, if you have a skill like cooking or you are good at teaching, if you're a teacher and you have like a certain subject that you're really passionate about or any range of things like check out the app and see if it's a place for you because like people are making a fair amount of money on it.

Maddy: [00:21:31] The next one that comes to mind, which I have dabbled in a little bit in the past, is surveys.

Sophie: [00:21:36] Yes, surveys are a funny one because you have to be very committed to them, but it is a way to make cash.

Maddy: [00:21:44] So I did ones where I didn't actually make cash. I got Quantas planes.

Sophie: [00:21:48] Oh, yeah.

Maddy: [00:21:50] That's I think one toasted one at some point where I signed up and I got an email and it would be anywhere. I did this at uni when I had a bit more time on my hands. Yeah. You would get anything from like 10 minutes to like 40 minutes to an hour and you would do the survey and you got Qantas points.

Sophie: [00:22:06] Yeah, I love that. Yeah, well I watched to go on TikTok, so I'll share her knowledge because she's really into it.

Maddy: [00:22:12] Who is it? Do you remember?

Sophie: [00:22:13] I think names like Live dash side hustles. We could put it in the show.

Maddy: [00:22:17] No, thank you.

Sophie: [00:22:18] Live. Thank you live. She was saying that at the beginning you don't make a lot of money because like that, you're building up your reputation as a surveyor. But then if you commit something like 10 hours a week, which is a lot of time, but 10 hours a week, she was saying she makes up to $600. Wow. So it's an extra 600 bucks a week if you've got I don't know.

Maddy: [00:22:38] If you've got the time.

Sophie: [00:22:39] Home on the weekend. So if you are starting this one, don't get frustrated straight away if you want to build up the time.

Maddy: [00:22:45] Another one that comes to mind is a company called Side Kicker. My housemate used to work for this one, like in the head office. Really? Yeah.

Sophie: [00:22:53] That's what was her role. That's so interesting.

Maddy: [00:22:54] His role was on strategy.

Sophie: [00:22:58] Nice. So side kicker is like a platform where it links you to jobs. Yeah, It's like in hospitality or events or like, Uber driving.

Maddy: [00:23:10] Yeah, I don't. Yeah, they also do. I'm black Factory staff and workshop. Yeah. Yeah. So different. Yeah. All different types of I guess. Sort of. I want to say maybe manual labour, but like, yeah, in the realm of also hospitality and things like that. Yeah.

Sophie: [00:23:26] And it's a good one because it's like shift work. So like if you work full time job but like on the weekend, want to make some extra cash, like you can sign up to shifts and you can actually choose your timetable.

Maddy: [00:23:37] Did you say you had a friend who does is.

Sophie: [00:23:39] Yeah, I've had a friend. Not with this particular app, but with a different company. And sometimes she'll work like on the weekends just doing hospitality gigs. And I think it's a great way to make money because you make tips sometimes. Like you can make double time on the weekend is flexible around your timetable.

Maddy: [00:23:57] Anything else?

Sophie: [00:23:59] I have two more. Okay, Well, make them quick. The first one, which is great because I'm actually the first one is called Revolve.com. Okay. EBay.com. And this is where you write captions for audio. Oh lack sorry. Captions for video.

Maddy: [00:24:18] Yeah, right. And so I was thinking like Instagram caption yeah.

Sophie: [00:24:22] No, sorry for video. So yeah, really, really. Interestingly, I met a guy on exchange. This was like in 2016. But what it was when I was living overseas and this guy used to write captions because we were like university students, not a lot of hours. And he was writing captions and making so much bank. Wow. Because I think it's like, I don't know the exact pricing. Yeah, but he was doing it for a foreign language because he spoke a different language and that you can make a lot of money out of. Yeah. I mean if you have a second language up to a slave translating and then captioning can make bank of dot com. If you're in Australia New Zealand Nice.

Maddy: [00:25:01] And what is your last recommendation. The last tip.

Sophie: [00:25:03] The last one is like the best and I'm going to use this, it's called snooper, it's an av s and r r Yeah. And it's where you go to shops like you go to like you sign up, you go on a map around your area and like click the map and the little price tag and it'll show you the shop to go to and you have to go and take photos of brands products, because brands want to know if their products are represented well in a store or if they're being, you know, done to Eddie. How good is that?

Phoebe: [00:25:35] Snooper Oh, my goodness.

Sophie: [00:25:38] So it ranges from like $7 to 20 to 30. And like you can find shops on a map all in the same area and just go around taking photos and making cash for taking photos. Oh, how good is that? Wow, I know.

Maddy: [00:25:51] Okay, can you try and let us know?

Sophie: [00:25:53] Yeah, I would love to like a little vlog, but I saw like, a girl doing an example of it, and she went in and like, took photos of, like, flip flops, thongs at, like a store. And I just thought it was so funny that.

Maddy: [00:26:04] She got paid to do that. That is amazing.

Sophie: [00:26:06] But it's a way to make cash right now.

Maddy: [00:26:08] So they have it multiple ways, Lots of inspiration of how you can start to make some money on the side if side hustles are something that you're interested in.

Sophie: [00:26:18] Yes, I think the good thing about them is there's something for everyone you got to do what suits you. So I guess that's our fourth thing that you can do in Feb is like start thinking about how you can make extra cash and whether it's like something you wanna do consistently or like pop in and out of. It's all for you to decide. But I think it leads nicely into this series that we have coming up next week. Yeah, for the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Maddy: [00:26:41] So exciting. We are launching a found a series which is going to be platforming and sharing the stories of people. Some of Australia's most successful Start-Up founders. Yeah, sharing how they did it, how they created their made their success, how.

Sophie: [00:26:57] They started this side hustle and turned it into a big business. Should we give.

Maddy: [00:27:01] A teaser what what guesses we got coming.

Sophie: [00:27:04] Out? Well, we've already mentioned Michelle Battersby from Sunroom, but we've also got Tess Nicolaou from conceiving Beauty and our exciting Zara side Love from the daily offers.

Maddy: [00:27:13] Okay, enough, enough rest. We will keep a secret old to all for you to look.

Sophie: [00:27:18] Forward to that will be launching with International Women's Day, which is next Wednesday, the 8th of March. And this series will be celebrating this day across a whole two months because why not?

Maddy: [00:27:32] But for now, this is our last recording together in person for a little while.

Sophie: [00:27:36] Yes, Maddie is going away for three weeks and then moving to Sydney Cycle four.

Maddy: [00:27:40] Are you regularly back to say.

Sophie: [00:27:43] Yeah, exactly. And you'll keep hearing our voices for the next couple of months, so.

Maddy: [00:27:46] Ah, yes, because, well, we have pre-recorded a lot of our found a series which is coming up and we are going to still be recording them sometimes remotely, sometimes in person.

Sophie: [00:27:56] But if you want to see our beautiful faces, check us out on social media. We are dedicated to going out to tell. So follow us at YIGC podcast.

Maddy: [00:28:06] You've touched on before how we need a strategy. TikTok is the strategy.

Sophie: [00:28:10] It is, It is. Have you seen all my videos?

Maddy: [00:28:12] Yeah. You're doing well. I'm sorry. I know I need to get back to the YIGC podcast on TikTok as well as Instagram. Would love, love, love to hear what side hustles you are doing, how your experience has been, not gatekeepers. Yeah, we love sharing the info, so I would love for you to share it. That's true.

Sophie: [00:28:31] Otherwise you will hear from us next week.

Maddy: [00:28:34] Catch you then.

Sophie: [00:28:34] Bye.

She works in finance, but honestly had no idea about investing until her partner encouraged her to start. Her investing goal is to build the freedom to do things that she's passionate about - whether it be start a business, donate to causes close to her, or to take time out of the workforce to start a family. Right now, there’s no specific goal, she just wants to have the freedom when she'll need it.
