We talk about what we've learned over the past year, reflect on how our Order Pad is tracking, and chat about some of the misconceptions people have (as well as very important questions you should be asking!) when thinking about finding a financial adviser.

It's been a year since Candice and Felicity launched Talk Money To Me! To celebrate, they are doing a two part series, reviewing all of the Order Pad stocks they've pitched over the past 365 days. They look at what's changed since they pitched it, and review the updated information that's come across their desk.

Felicity and Candice open up their Order Pads. This month they are inspired by their special analyst series they’ve just completed, so each select their favourite stock pick from the twenty that were covered. Felicity chooses IGO Limited, a Nickel-copper-cobalt operation in WA, a purpose-led mining company that’s focussed on metals needed for a clean energy future. Then Candice talks about Elders, an Australian company with a history dating back to 1839. She likes that it’s a leading Rural Services business, supplying physical, financial and advisory inputs to Australian and New Zealand farmers.

Felicity and Candice open up their Order Pads, and share with us through the stocks they are buying and selling this month. Felicity keeps her form, and brings us a Perth-based resource development company with a 220 million market cap, with a focus on a uranium project in Western Australia. Felicity likes this company because it’s developed into a real player in the green energy space, as getting a uranium project to be viable is extremely tricky. Then Candice brings a company with a long legacy of storytelling, and a massive market cap of $239 billion, that’s well positioned to benefit from the re-opening trade following the pandemic. It’s Disney, and she unpacks why she thinks it’s a good time to investigate this legacy media conglomerate.

Candice starts with the first ever sell recommendation for TMTM's Order Pad - she looks at Magellan Financial Group and talks about the much-discussed circumstances around this Sydney-based fund manager. Then Felicity brings a very un-Felicity-like stock - a diversified financial manager with a market cap of $2 billion, that provides a dividend yield of 3.5%.

Candice pitches a leading US retailer in the beauty and specialty hair sector - Ulta Beauty - and talks about this American chain of beauty stores with low levels of debt, and solid financials. Then Felicity sings the praises of a potential up-and-coming Nike rival - On Holding AG - which only listed as recently as September 2021. We know Felicity loves getting in early on her stock picks! This brand capitalises on the increased focus on health and fitness that’s emerged over the last two years.

Candice and Felicity recap their favourite event of the investing calendar: the SOHN Hearts and Minds Investor Conference. Hearts and Minds Investments Limited (HM1) is a unique Australian listed investment company. HM1's has two objectives; to maximise long-term returns to shareholders by investing in high conviction ideas; and provide vital financial support to leading medical research institutes. The amount to date has exceeded over $30 million towards Australian Medical Research Institutes.

Felicity pitches a leader in the fast-growing cybersecurity industry: CrowdStrike. This company sells a cloud-based platform that protects endpoints on laptops, desktops, the Internet of things, using AI technology to stop breaches. Then Candice talks about PayPal, a pure play in online payments which enables digital and mobile payments on behalf of merchants and consumers, with a killer track record of smashing their growth targets.
