Is there any criteria stopping someone from being able to engage in a share purchase plan at the discounted rate if they only hold 1 share in the company? If not, is there any drawback (asides from no liquidity in the value of the 1 share) to always selling all shares except 1 to ensure no additional brokerage fees yet access to more SPPs over time as portfolio changes and sales are made and different stocks are purchased?
