Hi! Newcomer to your podcast and to the investing world at large! Apologies if this has been asked before, I’m interested in having a considerable chunk of my portfolio in dividends for income, and am looking seriously into the high yield funds such as Betashares’ Yield maximiser: https://www.betashares.com.au/fund/equity-yield-maximiser-fund/
Vanguard VHY- https://www.vanguardinvestments.com.au/retail/ret/investments/product.html#/fundDetail/etf/portId=8210/?overview
I note the Betashares option has a higher expense ratio as it’s a managed fund, but outperforms the Vanguard one at slightly more than the delta of management fees.
What is your opinion of these funds? Anything to be aware/wary of?
PS, if you are answering this on the podcast, please keep me anonymous! Many thanks for your podcast and resources, you have been immensely helpful in getting me up to speed on these issues, as I face some pretty big decisions!
